The Queens' Arts Festival is an annual collaborative event at that encompasses and showcases the outstanding arts scene in and around Cambridge.
This year I had the opportunity to showcase some of my digital paintings at a permanent exhibition at Queen's College in Cambridge. The paintings in question are observational studies I did in 2018.
Both "Train View" and "Chickens in Bright Sunlight" were drawn and painted digitally with photographs I took for reference. I noticed the effects of the lighting contrast on both occasions and found it so fascinating I wanted to recreate them myself.
In "Colour Garden", I drew the scene from direct observation and then experimented digitally with colour.
